I’ve always considered myself to be on the frugal side of Christmas shoppers. I would only buy the stuff that is absolutely necessary – even if kids begged me to buy newer ornaments for decoration. I’m just too practical as I know that all of this does not last long and is only good for this short Holiday period.
So when my 12-year old son suggested that I should get some Solar Christmas decorations – I decided to give it a good thought. Imagine that first of all you will be saving literally tons of money on electricity. Also I would not have to worry about any wires sticking out in the most dangerous places. So I went ahead and took the plunge.
I started with decorating the outside of my house – my little front garden and pathway to it. The 2-piece Solar powered Santa light fitted perfectly well to decorate and illuminate my cute flower-bed, while the Solar powered Snowman light became a nice decoration to the pathway along the front porch.
And I was so amazed at how simple the installation is. Just stake it into the ground in a sunny spot – the solar panel absorbs the sun’s energy then illuminates the clear figurine for hours through the night – hues changing from blue to emerald to violet and so on across the spectrum of the rainbow. Photo sensor turns it on at dusk and off at dawn automatically for worry-free enjoyment.
Now I’m looking forward to more ideas from my kids on Holiday decoration – solar powered products are surely a lot of fun!!
