Wind energy has become the main talk of even presidential candidates, while nuclear power is growing in popularity as well. It seems as if solar power has fallen under the radar, but that would be an incorrect assumption. On the contrary, solar lights have become mainstream and easily attainable for anyone looking to become better for the environment. Instead of drawing on the power grid, many people are using solar lights for a variety of different reasons including cutting electricity costs.

What is Solar?

Solar energy is the simplest alternative energy source to understand. Small panels collect the sun’s rays and they transfer the light rays into energy to charge a battery. When the sun disappears over the horizon, these batteries are reversed, and the energy is drawn on to light a bulb. The entire process essential takes energy production in a fast forward motion.

Oil, our current main source of energy, is also produced by the sun. By using this resource, we have found out how to turn millions of year old sunshine into power. Perhaps this was the wrong way to go about things, however. Instead of using the older sunlight to power our world, it would have been cleaner and better to simply develop solar power first. Rather than taking just what we need, oil has caused many problems in excess. These problems include environmental issues as well as economic issues.
